What is Hypnotherapy?
Every action we take, every emotion we feel, starts with an image in our unconscious. Sit now and focus on your heart rate - try consciously to speed it up – you can't can you? Now, close your eyes and imagine something terrifying like; you're walking down a dark alley, it's the dead of night, you're all alone. You think you can hear someone following you and then suddenly you feel hot breath on the back of your neck...! You're heart rate increases and you may start sweating a little. That's the power of your imagination!
Hypnotherapy addresses these images in the subconscious, changes, eliminates or magnifies them to allow you to re-programme your responses to events in your past or events in your future - fast!
Surely we all know how to Breathe?
Something we do (mostly unconsciously) several times every minute of every day for the whole of our lives. Breath in, breath out. How much, from where, at what speed, using which muscles? None of our concern apparently. For most of us, as long as we keep breathing, how we breathe is immaterial right?
Wrong!
How we breathe; whether through the mouth or nose, from our chest or our belly, the length of our inhale or exhale, is essential and can have a huge impact on both our physical and mental health.

Welcome to Take a Double Breath, I am Sarah Street. After spending years as a graphic designer, I felt the need to contribute more directly to others' well-being, to be more useful to my fellow humans, so I re-trained and qualified as a physiotherapist and hypnotherapist and I also work as a breath coach.
I strongly believe that given the chance, the body can heal itself and that the mind can be re-programmed to become resilient and used as a powerful tool to enable us to live happy, fulfilled and prosperous lives.
